The Morenci School District is located in Morenci, Arizona.  We are located approximately 180 miles, northeast of Tucson. 

Fairbanks Elementary School has been recognized by the Arizona Department of Education as a “Highly Performing” and “Excelling School,” while Morenci High has been recognized as a, “Highly Performing School.” during the past several years.  Our staff has high expectations of our students, with excellent parent support.  The Morenci School District has been highly effective in providing a stimulating and challenging learning environment to help encourage student learning. 

The Morenci School District is a great place to teach!  The working environment and facilities are both excellent! Student/teacher ratios average about 24 to 1or less in most grades and classes.  Students are expected to behave and be respectful!   Our community is a great community to live and raise a family.  The parents in our community are very supportive of our schools. 

Our salary schedule is competitive with most of the schools in our state.  The base salary for a first year teacher with no graduate hours pays $33,600 with staff having an opportunity to earn up to an additional $6,000.00 in performance pay. 

The Morenci School District provides our employees with an excellent benefit package.  Teachers are offered a major medical plan for single and married employees.  The medical plan for a single person is paid 100% by the district.  Approximately 67% of the premium for the family medical plan is paid for by the district.  

Housing is offered to all teachers employed by the Morenci School District at a very reasonable cost.  An unfurnished duplex or small three bedroom home will be provided to a single or family staff member for approximately $260.00 per month, not including utilities.
